For example in 2008 the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) commissioned a report from the American National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on this issue and as a result mandated explicit warning labels, warning the consumer of the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning associated with operating a portable generator. This report revealed that at least 65 people died from carbon monoxide poisoning associated with portable generators in 2006.

SAFETY SYSTEM
The generators have a triple lock protective system:

Lock 1 - Closes the LPG tank or natural gas supply
Lock 2 - Closes the engine switch to cut off gas supply
Lock 3 - Automatically cuts off the gas supply inside the air-fuel mixer when the engine stops running.

POLLUTION

A normal petrol powered generator can produce a hundred times more colourless, odourless carbon monoxide gas than a modern car's exhaust. Recent reports recommend that petrol generators should not be operated within 10 metres of a premises.

Gas / LPG generators give off low emission, no smoke and minimal smell which is all good protection for people's health and the environment.


OPERATING COSTS

Gas generator's will result in significant fuel savings compared to petrol generators.


RELIABILITY

The life of a gas generator is considerably longer due to much better lubrication. In a petrol generator it is the petrol that dilutes the oil which decreases the effectiveness of the oil to do its job of lubricating the engine cylinder. With the gas generator there is absolutely no dilution of the oil which will under normal operating conditions give the user an increase of around 25% in the life of the appliance.

Because of the reduction in voltage fluctuations gas generators can be used for precision instruments and meters. < 5% THD
Natural gas generators rarely fail as there is no fuel interruption.
